Binance chỉ cần 180 ngày để trở thành sàn tiền số lớn nhất thế giới. Nhưng bị nhiều chính phủ đưa vào tầm ngắm.
Được giới thiệu vào tháng 8/2017. Binance mất khoảng 6 tháng để vươn lên trở thành sàn giao dịch tiền điện tử lớn nhất toàn cầu và duy trì vị thế đó cho đến ngày nay. Đứng sau Binance là Changpeng Zhao – người có biệt danh là “CZ”, sinh năm 1977 ở Giang Tô, Trung Quốc. Tuy nhiên, gia đình ông rời Trung Quốc sang Canada sinh sống năm ông 12 tuổi.
Zhao thành lập Binance ở Thượng Hải. Lúc đầu, sàn này phục vụ các nhà đầu tư tiền điện tử Trung Quốc. Giúp thiết lập lại thị trường tiền kỹ thuật số lộn xộn. Tuy nhiên, chỉ trong vòng vài tháng. Binance đã bị buộc phải rời khỏi Trung Quốc khi lệnh cấm đối với các sàn giao dịch tiền điện tử gia tăng. Nhưng điều đó không ngăn nó trở thành sàn giao dịch lớn nhất thế giới bằng cách giảm phí cho các nhà giao dịch tiền điện tử và sử dụng “Binance coin” thay vì tiền mặt.

Theo Decrypt, lượng giao dịch được thực hiện trên Binance đạt hơn 1,4 triệu lệnh mỗi giây. Nền tảng này hiện có hơn 500 loại tiền điện tử có sẵn cho người dùng trên toàn cầu trao đổi.
Theo dữ liệu từ công ty theo dõi Coinmarketcap, hơn 16 tỷ USD giao dịch tiền điện tử được Binance xử lý mỗi ngày, so với chỉ hơn 2 tỷ USD của “gã khổng lồ” Mỹ Coinbase. Cho đến nay, Binance vẫn được nhiều người coi là một trong những sàn giao dịch tốt nhất, đáng tin cậy nhất trong thế giới tiền số.
Thiết kế và tính năng
Thiết kế của Binance bị đánh giá là lộn xộn, thiếu tính gọn gàng. Người dùng cũng khó làm quen với các công cụ và thông tin được bố trí dày đặc trên nền tảng này. Tuy nhiên, giao diện này lại cung cấp đầy đủ thông tin nhất trong tất cả các giao diện của sàn giao dịch tiền số hiện nay.
Việc đăng ký tài khoản Binance khá đơn giản. Người dùng chỉ cần cung cấp email hoặc số điện thoại, sau đó xác minh danh tính (KYC). Sau đó, người dùng có thể nhấn chọn “Mua tiền điện tử” ở góc trái. Thanh toán qua chuyển khoản ngân hàng, thẻ Visa hoặc Mastercard.
Binance cung cấp mọi loại giao dịch tiền số phổ biến. Từ nhóm thanh khoản đến hợp đồng tương lai, lợi nhuận, khoản vay… Việc gửi và rút tiền từ ví Binance dễ dàng và đơn giản. Hiện tại, Binance tính phí 0,1% cho mỗi giao dịch. Nhưng sẽ được giảm 50% nếu sử dụng BNB – một token chính của Binance. Đây cũng là mức phí thấp nhất hiện có trên bất kỳ sàn giao dịch nào. Tuy nhiên, sàn vẫn thu được nhiều lợi nhuận do số lượng giao dịch khổng lồ.
Từng bị hacker tấn công
Binance hiện là một trong những sàn giao dịch an toàn và đáng tin cậy nhất. Nhờ các máy chủ lưu trữ được trải rộng khắp thế giới thay vì chỉ tập trung ở một vài khu vực. Điều này giúp nền tảng giảm khả năng bị tấn công hoặc gặp sự cố. Nếu một trong các máy chủ gặp vấn đề, mạng lưới vẫn hoạt động bình thường.
Tuy nhiên, giống hầu hết sàn giao dịch khác, Binance cũng từng bị tấn công. Vào năm 2019, sàn giao dịch này xác nhận đã bị hacker đánh cắp hơn 7.000 Bitcoin trên “ví nóng”. Với giá 4.000 USD mỗi Bitcoin khi đó. Số tiền bị đánh cắp tương đương khoảng 40 triệu USD và 2% số Bitcoin Binance đang nắm giữ.
Trong thông báo chính thức. Binance cho biết hacker đã đánh cắp các đoạn mã API. Mã xác thực hai lớp và các thông tin khác của nhiều tài khoản người dùng. Công ty giải quyết vấn đề bằng cách hoàn trả toàn bộ số tiền mã hóa mà người dùng bị đánh cắp thông qua Quỹ tài sản đảm bảo an toàn cho người dùng (SAFU).
Sau cuộc tấn công, Binance đã có nhiều chiến lược điều chỉnh. Cho đến nay, sàn giao dịch này không còn gặp phải sự cố tương tự.

“Cuộc chiến” với các cơ quan quản lý toàn cầu
Nền tảng này từ lâu đã là “cái gai” trong mắt nhiều nhà quản lý. Tại nhiều quốc gia, Binance (tên miền chính Binance.com) không thể truy cập được. Tại Mỹ, người dùng phải vào Binance.us. Dù vậy, nền tảng này cũng bị hạn chế.
Năm nay, Binance bị nhiều quốc gia đưa vào “tầm ngắm”. Hồi tháng 6, cơ quan Dịch vụ Tài chính của Nhật Bản đã cảnh cáo nền tảng này về việc hoạt động không đăng ký. Cùng tháng đó, Cơ quan Quản lý Tài chính của Anh (FCA) yêu cầu Binance cũng như các công ty có liên quan. Bao gồm Binance Markets Limited và công ty mẹ Binance Group không được thực hiện bất kỳ giao dịch nào tại nước này vì công ty không có trụ sở chính. Tháng 7 vừa qua, Binance tiếp tục bị Cơ quan quản lý Chứng khoán Italy yêu cầu “không được phép” cung cấp các dịch vụ và hoạt động đầu tư.
Ở Trung Quốc, Binance bị cấm cùng tất cả sàn giao dịch tiền điện tử khác. Đầu tháng 6, Bắc Kinh đã ra lệnh cho các ứng dụng thanh toán ngừng hỗ trợ các giao dịch tiền điện tử. Dù vẫn chưa cấm hoàn toàn tiền điện tử.
